Fusing economic opportunity and social justice with environmentalism, Van has gone from local grassroots organizer to special adviser on green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality in less than two years.
Van stands among Senator Edward Kennedy, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and First Lady Michelle Obama.
